Nyukani recognised as greatest in circuit
Our Top 5 learners for Term 1 in Grade 12 were invited to a prestigious event to motivate and award top learners in matric. The event, held at Edward Homu Secondary school, was organised by our Klein Letaba circuit manager, Dr T.M Chauke. Top learners in 14 schools which form part of the Klein Letaba Circuit listened as Dr Chauke announced the Top learners in the entire circuit.
Dr Chauke rendered a beautiful speech dedicated to the learners to remind them that each one of them were not a mistake and that they were designed by God for a specific purpose. Dr Chauke said that each of the kids were a blessing and were blessed with gifts and talents even before they were born for that purpose. Dr Chauke cautioned the learners from having too many friendships as some of them were actually foes. “What counts in life is not the mere fact that you lived, but it is in the value…” Nelson Mandela was quoted.
Dr Chauke stressed to the learners that they should remove all obstacles and should work hard to unfold their potential as success was in their hands. Dr Chauke announced that she would assign the learners to groups of 10, comprising of various schools. The purpose of the groups will be to motivate each other and help each other in school-related matters. The groups will have a mentor-educator assigned to them and will have solely be about academic matters.
The circuit had a 39% pass rate in term 1- something that the circuit Manager stated was not good enough.

Guest speaker, Ms Rhulani Chauke encouraged learners to bounce back and to declare that the game was not over- learners should bounce back in order to shine in their final exams.
The 2020-2021 lockdowns were given for the overall poor results, which came to 39% pass rate in the circuit. Though acknowledging the results as being very bad, nonetheless, Nyukani Education Centre stood out and was used as an example as what is possible.
