Nyukani Receives 95.7% Matric Pass Rate
Nyukani Education Centre wishes to congratulate the 2021 matric class and educators on their outstanding achievements and stellar results in the National Senior Certificate examination. Out of 69 learners, 66 passed, thus achieving an overall 95.7% pass rate thus recording an improvement of nearly 10% compared to 89.1% achieved in 2020.

Our class of 2021 achieved 50 Bachelors passes, amounting to 72.4%. This was a huge jump compared with 2020, where our learners achieved 56.7%. Our higher certificate pass rate, which is the lowest category of passes, has dropped significantly to 7.2%. Furthermore, our learners received 74 distinctions – from 69 matriculants.
We would like to give a special recognition to Shiluba Mathye, who receive four (4) distinctions. Kuhlula Mambane, Emile Mthombeni and Mavuyisi Chabane all received five (5) distinctions. Lastly, but certainly not least, we applaud Tiyani Mabunda achieved seven (7) distinctions.
As a school, we believe our learners have what it takes – the greatness is already within them. Our role as a school is to inspire, encourage and give them the necessary tools to be successful. Hence, Nyukani is one of the first schools to roll out e-learning in South Africa during 2021, following the global pandemic. This was coupled with rigorous training and developing to equip our educators with new pedagogical approaches. As a result, our schooling was not disrupted when the third wave struck in June 2021.
We also wish to congratulate all our teachers and parents for working extremely hard and supporting our learners throughout their matric journey. Your hard work, support and love yielded great results. You have contributed great minds to South Africa. May you never tire of changing society and developing global citizens.
