1) NEC Excels at Inter-school Competition
NEC soccer, volleyball, chess and debate teams participated in the King’s Court Challenge on Saturday 18 August. Our teams did amazingly well against the other independent schools that took part. The NEC debate team finished 2nd overall, the chess team finished joint 1st and lost the tie breaker and the U15 soccer team placed 3rd. The top result was achieved by the U19 soccer team when they beat their hosts, King’s Court in the final to take the winners trophy.

2) Build It Spar Competition.
Our Primary School netball and soccer teams took part in the Build It / Spar tournament on Wednesday 15 August. The teams played hard and learnt a lot from the experience.

3) Many Arrive for Placement Tests.
Applicants for 2019 were invited to come and do placement tests at NEC on Saturday 18 August. A large number of learners did the tests. The biggest group was for Grade 8 where almost a full class did the placement test.

4) Introducing Ballroom Dance
Mr Obed Mofoleng spent three days at NEC introducing ballroom dance to our Primary School learners. The interest from the youngsters was overwhelming and we look forward to seeing great dance performances soon.

5) Visiting People at Work
Our Grade R class had a fabulous week learning all about the different jobs people can do as part of their learning theme. Their learning experience was enhanced by a trip to various places of work in Giyani. They visited the fire station, the police station and the dentist. To top the experience they had lunch at a restaurant with their friends.
